Funded by the PTA & Made Possible with support from parents like you…

Valle Verde’s Art Docent Program is designed to teach children the elements and principles of art and art history. Arts learning helps kids develop many fundamental characteristics they will need as adults, including creativity, motor skills, confidence, discipline, visual learning, decision making, perseverance, focus, risk-taking and open-mindedness. As a response, the PTA funds Valle Verde’s Art Docent Program. This is an exciting one or two-time a month gathering, organized and taught by parent volunteers in each class with grade appropriate projects and curriculum.

Volunteer Opportunities by Class

Even if you don’t feel artistic, the Art Docent Program needs your help! In addition to seeking parent volunteers to lead art class instruction for each class, we need volunteers that can get supplies ready, help with classroom management and assist with clean-up. If you're feeling generous and have some free time, please take a look at the other sign ups and fill in where you can. Some classes are short on volunteers.
