We are always looking for volunteers to join the PTA Executive Board. The Executive Board is made up of 8 officers and a number of chair and committee positions. Review the list of chair and committee positions below and complete our form if you’re interested in getting involved.

READ-A-THON FUNDRAISER CHAIR
We’re hoping to start a new tradition and need your help! We have the basic event outline and just need someone to take the lead.
GARDEN VOLUNTEER
The new garden area is an ongoing project, funded by the PTA, that requires engagement by the entire VVE community, as well as guidance from MDUSD garden educators and the UC Master Gardeners Program. Several classes have already started planting in their grade level plots, but we still need help to bring these gardens to life!
Art Room Volunteer
Michelle Foster is looking for volunteers to help her out with teaching the kids art. Please volunteer if you are available to help.
Art Show Producer
Coordinates Valle Verde’s annual art show, curates children’s art displays in the MUR, and communicates with staff and parents regarding deadlines. The art show typically takes place in late May.
Carnival Committee Chair or Co-Chair
Produces the fall Carnival and manages a committee of volunteers.
Communications Team
We are looking for help with regular communications, including drafting copy for the PTA eNewsletters, programming the eNewsletter template in Mailchimp, interfacing with the community through Konstella and Facebook.
Diversity Committee
Makes efforts to improve the representation of families throughout our school community and actively seeks out voices who have not historically been heard to help maintain an equitable learning environment for all students.
Education (PAC) Chair or Co-Chair
Identifies/gathers information important to education and the community. Attends MDUSD school board meetings, encourages participation at school advisory councils, and serves as liaison to other schools/PTAs to bring back and share relevant information with the Valle Verde community.

In addition to volunteering for a chair or committee position, there are important Parent Liaison roles available at Valle Verde Elementary. We ask that these liaisons report out District Information at our monthly PTA meetings to keep our community informed.

Enrichment Coordinator
Work with enrichment providers to plan a robust schedule of after-school paid enrichment class offerings throughout the year.
5th Grade Activities Chair
Oversees budget and assists volunteers coordinating all end-of-year 5th-grade activities, including Survivor Week, the Promotion Ceremony, and Promotion Pool Party.
Sponsorship Committee Chair or Co-Chairs
Are you interested in getting more involved at Valle Verde? If you have experience in fundraising or are passionate about helping to raise vital funds for our wonderful school, please consider joining our team!
Haunted House Committee Chair or Co-Chairs
Works with 4th/5th Grade students and parents to produce the Halloween Haunted House fundraiser benefiting the 5th Grade Fund.
Play Chair or Co-Chair
Produces a school play starring 4th and 5th-grade students benefiting the 5th-grade fund.
Spring Fling Committee
Works as a committee in the creation/delivery of the Spring Fling Auction & Dinner fundraising event.
STEAM Night Chair or Co-Chair
Works with Valle Verde teachers and staff to organize an annual STEAM night for families.
5th Grade Yearbook Co-Chair
Coordinates and compiles Valle Verde Yearbook materials.
