CARNIVAL FAQS

Why should I attend Carnival?

Attending Carnival and purchasing wristbands helps Valle Verde raise funds for many programs supported by our PTA. It’s also a great opportunity for you to meet other VVE parents and for your child(ren) to have an EXTREMELY good time with his or her friends - it’s just a really fun day to celebrate being a Valle Verde Viking!

Can I bring my friends and relatives to Carnival?

Yes! Carnival is for everyone and we want to share the fun! We not only encourage you to bring others but hope they will experience all that carnival has to offer. From games to entertainment, there’s something for everyone! We welcome the entire community.

Why should I buy wristbands in advance?

Buying in advance saves you time on the day of Fall Carnival, as you won't need to stand in the purchase line. Just swing by the will-call table to pick up your pre-purchased wristbands. Your child(ren) can get right to the business of having a good time. Also, save money by purchasing a wristband in advance! The early bird discount is valid through 10/17, so don’t wait!

What is the benefit of a wristband?

This all-inclusive wristband includes UNLIMITED games and carnival activities!! There are activities for all ages, including classic carnival games, gentle farm animals at the petting zoo, festive spray tattoos, and a family friendly train.

Do parents or caregivers need to purchase a wristband?

No, parents and/or caregivers do not need to purchase a wristband to attend carnival. Wristbands are required only for children participating in the event.

What is “Candy Corn Alley”?

Candy Corn Alley is a “sweet” tradition at Valle Verde. This booth features homemade treats made by YOU. Cake pops, caramel apples, popcorn mixes, cupcakes, rice crispy treats…you name it, it’s here! These Pinterest-worthy goodies are available to purchase with cash or venmo. Please sign up HERE.

What food options are available?

We’ll be serving Round Table pizza, and classic carnival treats like popcorn, cotton candy, and drinks. Concessions can be purchased with cash or Venmo.

Do I wear a costume?

Sure! Many will be in costumes and some will be in soccer uniforms coming straight from their game…up to you! If your child would like to participate in the costume contest and parade, please line up near the front office by 12:30pm. Our amazing office staff, Mrs. Tracy, Mrs. Ellie, and Mrs. Perkin, will meet you there. Prizes will be awarded in different costume categories. The costume parade and contest will conclude by the 1:00pm carnival start time.

I heard that you need parents to volunteer. What can I do?

All hands on deck! We need your help. We’re looking for day-of volunteers to help setup, work game booths, and clean up. You can also donate baked goods to Candy Corn Alley. It’s a big day and we need all the help we can get! Please sign up HERE

Remember, as the Valle Verde slogan goes, it takes every Viking to sail the ship!

Looking for an extra thrill? Step inside the 5th Grade Haunted House: Zombie Hospital
